Who was smitten with Din Grogu (Baby Yoda) before they watched the Mandalorian? I’m guilty some cute clips and memes was all it took. Back in 2019, I didn’t have a Disney+ subscription. Also, it’s rare for me to jump on a new show’s bandwagon right away, because I lack patience. By the time I watched The Mandalorian and The Book of Boba Fett, Hulu Ads were already promoting Season 3 of The Mandalorian. Technically, I was casually watching recaps over the years. So YouTubers and Instagram Influencers were getting more of my support than Lucas Films.
That being said, I spent almost three years buying merch for a show I didn’t watch first hand. Plus I’ve written a couple of Grogu themed posts. So, whose the real winner here? Social Media and Branding that’s who. Still, your here to find out which practical items I impulse bought.
Note: My Practical Weeb tendencies temporarily lower my budgetary defense system from time to time.
- Grogu Mini Speaker (Walmart)
- Grogu Graphic T-shirt(s) (GameStop)
- Grogu Mini Backpack (GameStop)
- Grogu Lanyard w/ Keychain (GameStop)

- Mandalorian Tin Case (Walmart)
- Din Djarin “The Mandalorian” Plushie (Walmart)
- Grogu Plushie (Family Dollar)
- Grogu Bookmark (Walmart)
Practical Weeb shopping can be affordable. At the end of the day, these purchases weren’t necessary. Especially the bookmark. I pick up free ones from the library all the time, but I couldn’t pass up a $2.98 bookmark that was just casually hanging there. My plushies don’t do much either. Yes, Mando is holding a green easter egg. No, I did not buy one for my kids Easter baskets. We left with one for me. You know what, my Weeb purchases make me happy and bring me joy. That’s how I choose to treat myself.
