Have you ever bought ingredients with the intention of experimenting in the kitchen and nothing comes to fruition. You just keep putting it off. It doesn’t have to be an eleberate recipe. You just don’t make it. Well, that almost happened with this recipe. You see, I wanted to make a high fiber and protein no-bake treat for my family. The summer heat is around the corner. So, I wanted to test out this recipe before I would need it.
This is not my original recipe. I got it from Gimme Some Oven. So, I’m only sharing the ingredients and brands below. After I mixed everything in one bowl, I scooped the energy mix into a Rubbermaid container and chilled in the fridge for about 4 hours.
- Nestle Toll House Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips
- Members Mark Bee Proud Honey
- Baker’s Corner Coconut Sweetened Flakes
- BADIA Ground Flaxseed
- J.I.F Creamy Peanut Butter
- Mom’s Best Cereals Whole Grain Oatmeal, Quick Oats
I’ll admit, I didn’t roll them into individual balls. Since they’ve gotta stay refrigerated, I just used a table spoon to scoop out what I wanted. So they were kinda oval shaped instead. That being said, they’ll definitely satisfy a sweet tooth, but I recommend using milk chocolate chips instead. Semi-Sweet chips have a bitterness that taste better when baked. That’s just my preference.
Although I didn’t follow through on the presentation of these energy balls, my family enjoyed them. I would use this recipe again. I hope today’s post motivates you to start a task you’ve been putting off. Thanks for spending Tuesday with me. Hope you’ll be back for Motivational Mondays.
