You know what’s a good hot entree to make on a hot day…Salmon Patties. You don’t need Fresh Salmon to do it. If you keep your pantry and crisper stocked, you don’t have to go out of your way to prepare them. For example, oil and breadcrumbs or pantry staples. Since onions are so versatile, many people purchase them pre chopped or whole. If you don’t have Canned Salmon on hand it’s very affordable and has a long shelf life. Since it’s a soft bone fish, adults and older children can eat them. Personally, I still try to extract most of the bones for a softer middle. With a crispy outside, who wants a crunchy center.
Salmon Patties
Time: 20 min (Prep & Cook) Yields: 5 to 6 Patties (Per Can)

Ingredients
- 14.75 oz Starkist Wild Alaskan Caught Pink Salmon
- 1/2 Cup Progresso Italian Style Breadcrumbs
- One Large Egg
- Vegetable Oil (amount varies by pan size)
- 1/2 Cup Diced Onions
- Goya Sazonador Total The Perfect Seasoning

Step by step
- Open 14.75 oz of Canned Salmon. Drain juice into a separate bowl (this can moisten crumbly patties)
- Place Salmon in a medium sized bowl. Remove fish bones and flake Salmon with a fork
- Add 1/2 Cup of Onions, 1/2 Cup of Breadcrumbs, and season to taste
- Crack one large egg and mix thoroughly
- Use 1/3 Cup to scoop and shape patties. Then add patties to medium high vegetable oil (about half of the pattie should be submerged in oil)
- Brown on both sides for 7 min. Transfer from oil to container lined with napkins
- Let cool and Enjoy
Final Thoughts
Overall, It felt like we were overdue for a recipe post. I wanted to share a “I don’t feel like cooking” entree that you can pair with leftovers or eat like a burger. I know how unmotivating summer weather can be. Let me know how these patties turned out.

Sharing is caring! Let me know what you think.
