So, you might be thinking most people have a coffee brewer at home. After all, we’re at the point where knock off Kuerigs are affordable. That’s not what I mean by Coffee Station. I’m talking about designating an area in your home for coffee and all of it’s add ons. This may seem wasteful, but the more you can do at home, the less you’ll payout with frivolous spending. For example, I love iced coffee. Depending on who makes it, this can be a pricey splurge overtime. So, I used to limit my Dunkin stop to every other weekend, which was nice for my pockets. Still, I felt like there was a better way to do this. Especially since, my hot brewed coffee tasted like it was coming down with a cold anyways.
They Make Ground Cold Brew Coffee?!
In the spirit of making every cup count, I’d throw a few ice cubes in and call it a day. It made it drinkable till I found cold brew ground coffee. I spotted it out in the wild (coffee aisles). So I was surprised and delighted to try cold brew original coffee.

It’s not that it doesn’t melt ice. I’ve used crushed and cubed ice. The brewer is still capable of melting about a 1/3 Cup or ice, which isn’t bad. That leaves room for flavor. Next I sought out liquid sugar and sauce. I’ll admit that’s not what they are called, but I knew what they looked like. I’d seen them on social media and YouTube videos before.
Let’s Dress It Up
I mean the coffee…not the coffee station. I try to keep two different flavors of syrup and sauce. That’s why I don’t get flavored ground cold brew coffee. My flavors of choice are vanilla, caramel, and hazelnut.

If I’m getting sauce it’s caramel and dark chocolate. Depending on how much effort I want to put in. I drizzle some sauce in my tumbler before I brew the coffee. Then, I add the syrup, stir and drink. Whipped Cream is an added bonus, but my tumbler doesn’t have a dome lid. So it’s rare for me to top off my coffee with whipped cream.
Final Thoughts
I’m glad that I decided to make my own Dunkin Style Drive Through Iced Coffee. There’s upfront cost, but it’s cheaper this way. I can make it the way that I want, because not all Dunkin employees brew the same. Meaning, I’ve figured out by trial and error, which local Dunkin to get me iced coffee from. If you were on the fence about building up your self serve coffee station, it is worth it to me. Thanks for spending some time with me. Hope to see you back for Motivational Mondays with Trisha.
