What’s On My Switch: Story Of Seasons Friends Of Mineral Town

Welcome Back for another What’s On My Switch! I beat Dragon Quest Builders 2 the other day. Since I’m a self proclaimed completionist, I’m working on unlocking all of the optional tasks on my island. As fun as that is, I needed a change of pace. So, I decided to restart, Story Of Seasons Friends Of Mineral Town. Although, Nanami is happily married to The Doctor and has an infant, I decided to start over with the default name Naomi. I went into the game blindly, like I usually do. I decided to use my husband’s Nintendo Account to start from the beginning.

Yes they’re as cute as their game cover y’all

What’s Story Of Seasons Friends Of Mineral Town

Mineral Town: an idyllic hamlet surrounded by lush forests and clear waters.  When you were young, you spent a summer there on your grandfather’s farmstead.  Country life was unlike anything back in the big city, but before long you found yourself basking in Mineral Town’s natural wonders

Story Of Seasons Friends Of Mineral Town, New Beginnings, Story Prologue

1. Game Guides Are Essential

Don’t get me wrong, I usually go into games like this blindly. Ignorance is bliss to a point. You might waster energy trying to smash tree trunks and builders with inadequate tools. You might waste seeds, because you didn’t fill enough land. These are definitely based off experience. There are so many people to talk to on a daily basis, that it can be hard to remember everyone’s likes/dislikes and love/hate.

Since friendships and romance is built on your comments and gifts, conflict will do more harm than good. Speeding through dialogue in daily conversations and cut scenes won’t help you either. That’s why I see value in Game Guides. Like any game, you don’t have much to offer in the befSo I found a video that should help get interested players started.

I’ve already made progress as Naomi with characters I neglected to visit on my first playthrough as Nanami

2. You Are The Other Man/Woman

You’re the out of towner that’s creating love triangles with everyone. Unlike Rune Factory, Mineral Towns eligible bachelors and bachelorettes have compatible love interest that they can marry. If you don’t marry an eligible bachelor or bachelorette within 5 years of game play, you’ll miss out on starting a family with the your partner of choice.

You might think dating them will keep them off limits to your love rival. However, only marriage will. In fact, your marriage prevents you from raising heart meters with other characters.

3. Don’t Sell Lumber and Blocks For Quick Cash

It’s tempting to sell all the rubbish in your farm. This is a bad idea. You need money and materials to upgrade your farm/home. Since your family farm was left an attended, theirs a lot of debris to clear the way for crops. If you make a quick buck with those, it’ll take you more time to collect the material you need to upgrade your farm. Outside of there normal drop areas, you need inclimenbt weather to get an abundance of it in one go. It’s possible to by crafting materials, but who wants to spend their hard on money on that?

Final Thoughts

It’s very easy to take a mental break playing Story Of Seasons Friends Of Mineral Town, because it’s an accelerated  24 hr/120 Day game. Think of Rune Factory or Majora’s Mask, but with a faster clock. An hour of uninterrupted play is an easy 2 weeks in game. Depending on the season, your caring for your farm, building relationships with the town, and participating in season activities. Since there’s no monsters involved, you can just enjoy the day to day. If you’re looking for a new game to occupy some of your down time, this one is a cute aesthetic. Thanks for stopping by. See ya next Monday!
