I like cheesecake, but it’s not something I’ve bothered learning how to make from scratch. Nor is it something my kiddos care for. So, I decided I could risk getting Philadelphia Cheesecake Filling. It wouldn’t evaporate into thin air immediately and I was curious to see how it tastes. Little did I know how hard it would be to find. During the holiday season, I was determined to find it, but it was out of stock.
Oh Where Oh Where Is The Filling?

As some of you know, I like to use in-store pick up to make virtual shopping list. This is an imperfect way of making an effective list for a few reasons. One, the pick up price doesn’t always align with the in person price tag. Two, the store will claim the product is only available for shipping. Yet, it’s sitting there fully stocked. The only reason you remembered to buy it, is because your peripheral vision spotted it. That’s part of the reason Philadelphia Cheesecake filling evaded me. The day I finally found it, my stores website said they were out of stock.
The Road To Cheesecake Filling

Technically, this isn’t something brand new. Philadelphia Cream Cheese has sold individual serving of their cheesecake with a fruit topping for years. I used to by them. Due to marketing, word of mouth, and overall taste, Philadelphia Cream Cheese has made itself the go to cream cheese for cheesecake in the U.S. They’ve even sold no bake powder versions of their cheesecake to reach consumers that can’t bake a cheesecake. Naturally, the next step was selling their own premade filling.
How Does It Taste?
I’m honestly suprised it took this long. People by cream cheese based dip for fruit. Others simply don’t have the time or don’t want to set aside time to make a no bake dessert. There is a demographic that benefits. Although I like how it tastes, I will say this is not a good purchase for consumers that like a firm cheesecake.

The filling has a thick consistency, but can be scooped out easily. It’s not as light as whipped cream, but it’s a little thicker than pudding. In my opinion, Phildelphia made their cheesecake feeling this way to ensure it would spread smoothly and evenly in a graham cracker pie crust.
Final Thoughts
Since it’s ready to eat, the consumer can make their dessert in two minutes. This makes it a convenient choice for a last minute dessert. You can dress it up with toppings. It does taste good without toppings and is a product I would buy again. If you want to mix it up this weekend, consider trying out Phildelphia Cheesecake Filling.
