This Post May Have Season Two Part Two Spoilers
Well folks were almost at the halfway mark of Apothecary Diaries Season Two Part Two. During a late Spring Hunting Trip, Moamao finds out that Jinshi is not a eunuch. To be fair, strictly anime fans already know Jinshi is not a eunuch. One, he and Gaoshun take medication to suppress themselves. This wouldn’t be necessary for someone that can’t procreate. Two, Maomao managed to connect a lengthy series of unfortunate events, which saved Jinshi’s life. Maomao did not do it out of love or loyalty. She rushed to save an unknown man, because it was the right thing to do. Three, Jinshi was allowed to let Maomao choose the doors for the Shrine of Choosing, an outdated selection process for the next emporer. Meaning, Maomao was purposely choosing to turn a blind eye to her employers true status. There was less direct evidence as well.

Things Are Not Adding Up
Jinshi has an undeniable connection to the Queen Dowager. Her former head lady in waiting is Jinshi’s care taker. The Queen Dowager reveals this connection to Maomao. Jinshi has a striking resemblance to former Pure Consort Ah-duo, who subtly implies her son is alive to Maomao. Jinshi’s role within the inner court and outer court doesn’t make sense. It’s a known fact that Jinshi manages the Emperor’s flowers, it’s not common knowledge that he participates in ceremonial rites. He’s constantly contacted to address issues that happen outside of his jurisdiction. That’s what makes “The Hunt” important.

How Can I Finish Season Two Before Crunchyroll Releases The Season Finale

Getting back to Season Two Episode Eleven, Maomao stubbornly attempts to imply she hasn’t uncovered Jinshi’s secret by any means necessary. After all, there’s no going back. Ignorance won’t be able save her from the consequences of her knowledge. So, where do we go from here. The latest English translated manga volume was released early March 2025. Based on the anime’s pacing, it’s likely this particular issue only covers one-third of Part Two. So, where are the remaining two-thirds coming from? That my friends would be Light Novel Volume Four. If you don’t like reading Light Novels, you’re not completely out of luck.

What’s Manga Up!?
Manga Up! Is the official manga app for Square Enix. I was pleasantly surprised to find English translated Manga Episodes that cover about 80 percent of Light Novel Four. When I can across this app, I was able to read 8 episodes for free without creating an account. Out of caution, I read those episodes out of order. Since I know what’s going to happen, I didn’t mind testing out how far I could go back for free. There’s just something special about seeing these Light Novel Chapters illustrated.

Like any comic/manga app there are in-app purchases, but there are strategic ways to avoid that. It really comes down the users patience. If you’re fandom budget is on the lower end, I’d take advantage of this app. Manga Up! is available through Google Play and Apple App Store. If you don’t have access to Crunchyroll, consider supporting The Apothecary Diaries through Manga Up!
