You know what’s nice about May? It’s that mild month in Spring before Summer demands to make an early entrance. It’s not too hot; it’s not to cold. It’s the ideal season for chilly drinks. With an introduction like that, you’d think National Beverage Day was about cold drinks. You’d be wrong.
Back in the 1920s, this holiday was called National Carbonated Beverage Day. As the name implies, it was a marketing attempt to promote soda and other fizzy drinks. Nowadays, it’s about shinning a light on all our favorite drinks. If you’ve been on a strict water regiment, outside of health issues, consider splurging on a few of your favorite drinks.

The cost effective way of celebrating National Beverage Day would be to make your own drink. I might make iced coffee with my Keurig or use my magic bullet to make a fruit smoothie. Regardless of what I choose to drink, I’ll take the time to relish how cool and soothing it is. What do you plan to drink?
