One of the ways I cut my electric bill is illuminating several areas in my home with Global Squish Tap Lights. They are rechargeable silicone night lights with different animal options. The smallest of the group that I’ve bought is the llama, the tallest is the Brontosaurus, and the quirkiest is the unicorn. Each gives off a soft glow and can change colors. Most are red, green, and blue. However, the unicorn has yellow, pink, and purple too.

Of all the designs I’ve tried so far, my favorite are the bear, dog, and unicorn. That is because they have a wider base. These three are in a seated position, which makes it easier to secure the cord for continues charge. The Brontosaurus and llama are standing. There is less silicon surrounding the base of the light. This makes them sensitive to movement. So they change color more unintentionally than the other tap lights.
There life expectancy can vary for different reasons. I’ve used Squish Tap Lights for 4 years. My average replacement for this was about 2 years. That being said, the llama was replaced within a year. This may have to do with its size. Sometimes its not the night Lights fault, its the charge cord.

A cords wear and tear will impact how snug the connection is. This matters because, these lights work better paired with a rechargeable box or directly in the wall. Now, this may seem counter productive for power usage, but think about it this way. Would you rather keep specific areas in your home lit overnight or turn lights on and off throughout the night?
Back to the lights, they can stay bright for about 3.5 hours before they begin to dim. However, they dont require a lot of energy to stay on. So a fully charged portable box, where outlets aren’t ideal for nights, will last over night.

In my opinion, these night lights performance aligns with the cost. Their soft glow doesn’t disrupt sleep. It’s effective range is moderate. Depending on where its placed in the home, you can maneuver without turning on main lights. If your current night lights are either too dim or too bright, Global Squish Tap Lights are a good middle ground. They’re cute, durable, and budget friendly.
