Disclaimer: This is not a sponsored or paid post. I am sharing my opinion for those that are curious about trying Nature Valley Wafer Bars.
Nature Valley, creator of the first mass produced granola bar, released wafer bars in 2019. At the time, the wafer bars came in two flavors (peanut butter and peanut butter chocolate). Out of curiosity, I bought both. Each box came with five wafer bars. The quantity is fair. These are speciality bars like Nature Valley Biscuits. Also, wafer bars are larger than the crunchy and chewy granola bars. Wafer bars are suited for people with sensitive gums, because they are easy to chew. That makes them kid-friendly too! In my opinion, their taste sets them a part from each other.

I tried the Peanut Butter Chocolate Wafer Bar first. Compared to other Nature Valley bars, the chocolate tasted generic. However, it stops the peanut butter from over powering the wafers. Each bite sounds crunchy, but were easy to chew. The wafer layers were thin and filled with peanut butter. These are pantry staples to me. Since all bars are 200 calories each, I like to eat them with string cheese.
On the other hand, I do not like Nature Valley Peanut Butter Wafer Bars. Each bite was like eating a spoonful of peanut butter with crunchy wafer bits in it. In my opinion, these are suited for Peanut Butter lovers. I like peanut butter…I don’t love it.
By the way, Nature Valley added a new flavor. The box, claims the new wafer is sweet and salty. I am hesitant to try it. Technically, wafers are similar to pie crust. Their taste is influenced by filling. Peanut Butter and Pretzels are savory. So, where is the sweetness coming from? I’m not in a hurry to find out…
