So, whose Nanami and why am I talking about her clothes? She’s a manga and anime character in Kamisama Kiss. Her full name is Momozono Nanami. (in Japanese culture, the family surname comes before the individual’s name). Her father has a gambling problem that leads to eviction and abandonment. At the age of seventeen, Nanami has to figure out what’s her next move. I know it sounds like a sad story, but Kamisama Kiss is a RomCom!
Even at her lowest point, Nanami decides to save a terrified man from a loose dog. After she explains her situation, the man decides to give his home to her. Although he abandoned it twenty years ago, several “entities” are taking care of it. Given her lack of options, she accepts. The man provides a map and plants a kiss on her forehead. At the time, Nanami doesn’t realize she accepted the gift and responsibilities of a land god. Plus a fox familiar that is not keen on serving her…
Now that your caught up, the RomCom features Nanami, a human land god, in a variety of adorable outfits! I was pleasantly surprised, because she’ a highschool girl. It would be fairly easy to restrict her clothing, which is common in Manga and Anime. Sure, you might get fun cover art, but that doesn’t guarantee the main character will wear that outfit.
