Motivational Mondays with Trisha: Budgeting

The holiday season will be wrapping up soon. This festive time of year can make us turn a blind eye to finances. Some readers may have budgeted for the holiday season, but didnt account for utilities. Gifts and activities maybe covered, but their feeling the blow of hosting gatherings. Regardless of how prepared we were, it is a good time to reflect on our spending. After New Year’s, seasonal celebrations tend simmer down. This makes it a good time to make some financial goals and sort out what adjustments you’ll need to make to get there. If budgeting as a lifestyle change feels to intimidating,  consider improving your finances as a New Year’s Resolution.

Marketers tend to use this time of the year to promote physical improvements, which is really just a spike in fitness profits. New Year’s can be about mental and emotional adjustments too. You don’t have to be in a financial pit to start. Just like with physical health, there are changes we can make to improve our finances. I hope these quotes provide encouragement and resolve. If that’s not enough, there’s plenty of financial literacy content out there.
