Using Peel and Stick Wall Decals Outside of Bedrooms

If you have children, have you noticed some of the stickers on their walls? Hospitals can feel like a scary place to kids.  So, I appreciate offices that go out of their way to make them kid friendly. It gives them something familiar to connect to and talk about. There’s other ways to make kids feel more comfortable like child sized furniture and playareas. Wall stickers help keep that child centered environment going where child sized equipment isn’t practical. It’s pretty inexpensive to do.

Where I Found Affordable Peel and Stick Wall Decor

I’m not talking about the wall stickers you find at department stores, I mean the Dollar Tree. Currently, they’re under $2. The actual price varies because some things are $1.25 and $1.50 before tax. Also, they’re removable. So you can’t peel and adjust them. You don’t have to get them at the Dollar Tree, you can find bigger and nicer ones at other stores, but the price will adjust accordingly; especially,  for popular licensed wall decals

Why Place Them All Over The Place?

At first, I just put them in my kids rooms. Then, I decided to place them in other locations like the kitchen and living room. My intent is to instil in my children that they can customize their space and it doesn’t have to be expensive.  Aside from wall stickers, I rotate out learning posters.

These visual aids can grab the attention of an idol mind. Sometimes, they ask me to quiz them on the posters and/or wall stickers. They make it easier to have impromptu lessons with my kids. Not all,  but some kids need reassurance that their presence is welcomed ih different spaces.

Some of that may come from being in environments where you’d get introuble for sitting on furniture. A child’s logic tells them these things serve a purpose, but the rule goes against it. I bring this up to explain why I go out of my way to put these kinds of things around the home.

Final Thoughts

I’ve got living room kids. So these inexpensive additions make common spaces feel more welcoming to them. Also, they gave me something to look out when I’m doing repetitive task for home maintenance. So, it’s a bit self serving, but it’s mostly for them. Plus, they are easy to remove. I know they arent permanently damaging my walls. The results are pretty nice for minimal effort.
