Get Fit This Summer!

Summer is usually associated with Bikini season, but it can also be a time to reinvent yourself. With classes out-of-the-way, there is more time to get out there and shed some of the pounds you picked up doing late night papers and eating junk to get you through it all. I know I’m going to work hard this summer. To do that, I need more motivating fitness clothes.

You see, there will be days when you don’t want to do anything. You’ll really have to push yourself to get through your workout. If your clothes look fun, it can motivate you to get out there. Like a brand new outfit, you want to show it off to the world. To help you meet your fitness goals this summer, I’ve picked out some summer essentials.

Tanks

When I’m doing an upper body workout, I like to wear tank tops, because you see the progress your making. Defined arms and shoulders will keep you motivated.

Also, their good for hot summer days. If your starting out. I would get a loose fit tank like this Women’s New Balance Racerback Tank. If your top feels like a sausage casing, It’s hard to get pumped for a workout. Think of shopping for your workout gear like shopping for your casual wear. Comfort and fit are key. When you look good, you feel good.

Long Sleeve Shirts

Contrary to popular belief, it can get cold during the summer. Instead of wearing a wind-breaker that will ride up, go for long sleeves. It will provide the cover you need from the wind but prevent you from over heating.

If you plan to purchase a long sleeve shirt, go for a mesh material. You’ll want a polyester, spandex blend.  Roxy’s Long Jump 2 Tee is a good example.

Compression Shorts

Remember when I said lose tops for beginners. Well….not necasarrily for shorts. If you have a prominent bottom, when your working out, you’ll feel like parts of you are going in three different directions.

To keep your lower half under control, put on a pair of compression shorts. It’ll keep everything nice and secure.  Plus, they look good. They come in a variety of colors and prints, like these NIKE Women’s Pro Printed 2.5-Inch Shorts.

Yoga Pants

For days you’ll be in the gym, go for yoga pants. Since you won’t be outside, you’re not going to sweat as much as you would outdoors. Also they fit comfortably and can be worn outside of the gym. So, if you have a lot of errands to run and little time for an outfit swap. Put on you yoga pants with a cute casual jacket.

If you plan to get yoga pants, go for a material similar to the long sleeve shirt. One example of great yoga pants is the Aerie Slim Gym Straight Pant.

There you have it ladies! So let’s get out there this summer and take advantage of the gorgeous weather. I hope these pieces can help you reach your fitness goals this season!

Are you getting fit this summer?

      1. Feedburner allows people to subscribe to your website easily through google reader and other readers. There’s also a subscription option. It’s cool, but it’s also kind of confusing at first. It’s free and owned by google. Google “feedburner” and it will come up.
