Last year, I decided to make some dietary changes. I wanted to cut down on empty calories without completely giving up dessert. Ice cream is a high calorie desert with little to no nutritional value. If it is not measured correctly, it is very easy to eat 2 to 3 servings of it in one sitting. A pint of ice cream is a good example. If a person eats a pint of Ben & Jerry’s Vanilla Ice Cream in one day, they will consume 990 Calories. One serving of B&J is 330 Calories. A pint of Halo Top Vanilla Bean Ice Cream is 290 Calories. That is 40 Calories less than one serving of B&J Vanilla Ice Cream. Which sounds more appetizing?
Compared to it’s competition, a Pint of Halo Top Ice Cream is pretty guilt free. It’s not intended to be consumed in one day. Each pint has the full calorie value printed in big bold numbers on the container. It’s harder to ignore. At least, the consumer can use calories and flavor to make their decision. By the way, Halo Top’s are a great source of protein. The health conscious brand has Keto Flavors and Coconut based frozen treats as well. My Top Three Flavors are…
3. Peaches & Cream
This fruity ice-cream reminds me of a Creamsicle. It does not taste like oranges, but peach plays nice with cream. There’s bits of peaches too.
2. Strawberry Cheesecake
I appreciate the graham ripple mixed with the strawberry bits. The cheesecake flavor doesn’t overpower the ice cream. It taste much better than Halo Top Strawberry Ice Cream.
1. Vanilla Caramel Milkshake
I love Sonic Caramel Milk Shakes. Halo Top’s pint is a great alternative. After all, a small Sonic shake is 660 calories. Halo Top doesn’t come with a cherry and whipped cream, but I can live with that.
Have you tried Halo Top frozen treats?
