Sabra Dark Chocolate Dip is Delicious

Have you wanted to try a new food, but it’s never in stock? Sabra Dark Chocolate Dip and I tangoed for about a year. During a Walmart run, my husband found it! I grabbed an eight ounce tub of chocolate flavored hummus and tossed it in the cart.

By the way, hummus is dip made of chickpeas. Usually, it is savory. In fact, I used to buy Sabra Crushed Red Roasted Pepper Hummus. This is why I was hesitant about buying the dark chocolate dip. Not all healthy sweets taste good.

Although this package suggests dipping it with fruit, Sabra sells small servings with graham crackers. Actually, its marketed towards kids. Instead of dark chocolate dip, it is called brownie batter dip. I figured graham crackers would work with the adult version too.

Since strawberries costed more than I wanted to pay, I bought a box of Honey Maid Cinnamon Graham Crackers. Excited to try out my new protein snack, I decided to read and nibble.

I was pleasantly surprised by the dip and the book. Sabra’s sweet dip did not taste like a vegetable. Although cooked chickpeas are the first ingredient, the dip contains sugar, cocoa, brown sugar, and vanilla extract. If your worried about caloric intake, two table spoons is only 80 calories. The dip has a grainey texture, but that’s normal for Sabra.

To be clear, I did not eat the whole tub in one sitting. I ate it daily for five days. The package suggest consuming within seven days. If you did the math, some of my servings were more than two tablespoons. Either way, I got my money’s worth and picked up another over the holiday weekend. Chickpeas are carbohydrates that are high in protein. Paired with the right snack, they are filling.

Let’s not forget Molly Harper’s book, Nice Girls Don’t Date Dead Men. The Jane Jamesion series reminded me of True Blood, an HBO series. So far, Molly Harper wrote four books about Jane, who is a young vampire. This is not the first book in the series. If you like reading in chronological order, start with the book, Nice Girls Don’t Have Fangs.

Have you read Molly Harper’s Jane Jameson series? What’s your favorite book?

Have you tried dark chocolate hummus dip? If so, what did you think?
