Motivational Mondays with Trisha: Reflection

We have two months left till 2023! Halloween Weekend is three weeks away. Christmas has gradually made it’s presence known. Before you know it, it’s New Years Eve. Although it’s a bit early for it, let’s start reflecting on 2022 today. I’m not one for New Years Resolutions, but I do like setting goals. There are things I achieved this year and others I fell short on. At the beginning of the year, I only published one post a week. Now, I have Motivational Mondays, Mystery Post Tuesday and TGIF aka Trisha’s Go In Fridays. That took planning and it takes commitment to stick to that schedule. My long-term goal is five post a week, but steady growth is better than burnout.

There are plenty of bloggers that show me it’s possible to hit my long-term goal, because I’m engaging with other bloggers. This amazing support system led to All Pretty Bits writing a skin care guest post for me this year. Learning from other bloggers brought me to Intellifluence which led to a LYRA Swimwear sponsored post. I hate to derail the positivity train. there are things that I didn’t get to or do well this year.

I started a Kofi account as a way to earn passive income for Magnify Your Style. I’ve received tips from friends and family. My account receives views, but I know I’m not using the account to it’s full potential. There are writers and bloggers that are meeting their funding goals with Kofi. Plus, Kofi has tools and tutorials catered to different types of creators. Success is attainable. On top of that, I backed out of participating in Blogtober this year. I didn’t plan for it. On the last week of September, I decided to pass on it. I never publicly announced I was going to participate. In the spirit of reflection, I felt the need to share.

Lastly, I did not publish a monthly newsletter. This particular setback wasn’t a content issue, it was distribution problem. The solution required me to upgrade my blog (which I am trying to use Kofi to fund) to utilize plugins. I won’t rant about this here any further. I hope some of my success and failures encourage you to reflect on 2022 as a whole. No one says you have to wait till December to do it. Who knows, you might work out some achievable action plans before December 31st.

Sharing is caring! Let me know what you think.
