Meme Mondays with Trisha: Audiobooks

Hey Folks, my summer break is over! It was much needed. Thank you all for continuing to visit, my daily and weekly visits didn’t drop this month. It makes it less daunting to take time off to recharge. Although you didn’t ask, I thought you might be wondering how I was spending my time. The title of this posts kinda gives it away. If you’re new here, I am a library supporter and read daily. Most of the time it’s some kind of comic, self help, children’s books, or educational. There was a time where I’d read novels in a day or two. That’s back when I had less responsibilities.

I missed going on a journey. Its not that I wasn’t borrowing these types of books from the library. It’s more like, a thick book was like a beacon for my family to interrupt me. I just got to the point where I stopped borrowing novels. During my break, my sister gifted me Part 1 of the popular Graphic Audio book, Fourth Wing. It was so submersive that I finished Part 1 in no time. Unintentionally, my sister unlocked the door that I’d shut a few years ago. Thanks to Libby and the occasional audible gift my sister sends me, I’ve been able to read so many books that I’d put off. You see, I couldn’t dedicate countless hours to them anymore. Thanks to audio books, I’ve been reducing my doomscrolling. So, since audiobooks are my latest hyperfixation, I thouhjt it’d be a suitable topic for Meme Mondays with Trisha. Hope you enjoy 😁

Sometimes you just gotta disassociate for a bit. It might sound like you’re escaping your problems, but they ain’t going no where. So you mine as well center yourself with a good audio book and come back to the problem with a clear mind

I haven’t ran into this issue yet, but I am caught up with the Fourth Wing series. After that cliffhanger, I’d imagine I’ll feel this way. I haven’t restricted myself to just graphic audio, but I feel like it’s the best way to experience Fourth Wing

Idk why but it feels like my inner child is pleased that I’m reading novels again. I remember making light work of the fiction books from my high-school library. Really just any library

Y’all do realize that story time as a child was a live audiobook right? Most people learn to read by being read too. Obviously, you still need the fundamentals of letters and spelling. Read a louds give people the chance to hear how words should be pronounced. It also teaches them how letter sounds work together to form words. This helps them build a vocabulary and understand how illustrations can give context clues for the words. There’s a reason even toddlers can earn summer reading prizes

I like Romcom and Romance Fantasy novels. So some of these adiobooks are like yo chill 😂

I’m thankful we’re at a point where audiobooks are accessible to all that want to read. So yea, I’m an audio bookholic,  but I was already a bookholic. So nothing to see here
