Winter Fitness Clothes for 2013

With a new year around the corner, many people make a commitment to improve their fitness. Unfortunately, a few things hold them back from committing to this goal. One would assume that time is a major reason. Life seems to be on fast forward. As a result, women try to be superwoman 24 hours a day. As a result, something usually gets put to the way side. Fitness can be one of those things. Let’s face it, it’s painful and tiring. It can make you feel drained an incapable of staying on top of your responsibilities. Over time, it can recharge you, provide stress relief, and make you feel healthy and full of life. However, this doesn’t happen right away. Believe it or not, winter is a major killer of fitness goals. This can stem from a lack of appropriate attire for winter months.

Summer and winter wardrobes are not the same. This is why you can’t rock summer fitness attire during the winter. You’ll freeze to the core before you start walking let alone running. Plus, you’ll be more likely to catch a cold which will only heart your health and progress. If your new year’s resolution involves being a fitter you, you need to take a look at your wardrobe.

First of on the list of must haves for 2013 are long sleeves shirts. Short sleeve shirts will drop your motivation as soon as you step out of the door. Hoodies without long sleeve shirts underneath will leave you feeling like a Popsicle. The following long sleeves shirts look hot and motivational. If your wallet is still empty from the holidays, you can use spandex based long sleeves shirts instead. You want something that’s a little form-fitting without being to tight and breathable.

Long Sleeve Winter Workout Gear

One you’ve added some sleek, hot, long sleeve shirts you’ll need some tights NOT sweat pants. Why do you ask? One, tights make your legs look awesome and sexy. Sweat pants hide your progress and have a terrible draft. Instead of feeling a rush of cold wind creep up your leg, put on some tights that will have you feeling fit, sexy, and ready to jog! If you don’t have the cash to invest in these tights, leggings can be used as well. I would not advise using thick leggings. If your leggings are a little see through, pair them with shorts. While toning your body, there is no reason to show off your lady bits. Let’s keep your workout gear PG.

Winter Fitness Tights

Though a long sleeve shirt might seem like enough coverage, sometimes winter weather can be brutal. Don’t let that stop you from getting through your routine. You’ll need a jacket that has an appropriate fit that allows you to move freely. Most former athletes have great these types of jackets. For example, I have a Track and Field jacket that I love to run in because it has a nice fit; it zips, and can be used all year round. If you have jackets from your glory days that fit, you can use them while you work out this winter. If you don’t, try these out.

If you don’t have certain things, it’s ok. There is still time to prep your wardrobe for a fit 2013!  I hope you are able to succeed in everything you strive to do this year!
