It’s interesting that Memorial Day is in May. It’s typically a time that people tend to settle into new beginnings. It almost implies that new beginnings are possible, because of the sacfrices of others. Think of field that used to be home to red poppy flowers. There maybe other flowers, but their absence is noticeable. Although they are red and vibrant, their place in this field can be forgotten. Hence, the need for collective memory. If we make the effort to remember those who have fallen, they won’t be truly forgotten. Although this topic was brought on by this holiday, be experience remembrance without directly knowing a service member. Don’t let the intro throw you. There maybe a message is that resonates with your loss.
